By accessing or using FairScore.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

Description of Service

FairScore.io provides a platform for managing fair judging and scoring, including:

• Managing judges and projects for fairs and competitions
• Facilitating score collection from judges
• Calculating results using z-score normalization for fair evaluation
• Generating reports and rankings

User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use at support@fairscore.io.

User Roles and Responsibilities

Our service supports multiple user roles with different responsibilities:

• Fair Administrators are responsible for managing their events, ensuring data accuracy, and obtaining appropriate consent for all participants including minors.
• Judges are granted access by Fair Administrators and must use the service only for its intended purpose of scoring assigned projects.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Collect data about other users without authorization
• Use automated systems to access the service without permission

Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all data you upload to FairScore.io. We do not claim any ownership rights to your content. You grant us a limited license to use your data solely for providing and improving the service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process any data you submit, including obtaining necessary consents for participant information.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. We may perform scheduled maintenance or updates that temporarily affect availability. We will endeavor to provide advance notice of planned maintenance when possible.

Intellectual Property

The FairScore.io service, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of the service.

Limitation of Liability

FairScore.io is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FairScore.io and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason with notice. You may request to close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, you may request export of your data within 30 days.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, binding arbitration.
